Since 2018, Mount Prospect Monarchs has been a community-driven group dedicated to creating and sustainably maintaining habitat and promoting best practices to support monarchs and other pollinators in the village. You're invited to join their annual program and seed share, where you can exchange seeds, gather helpful information, and connect with others who care deeply about habitat, pollinators, and support each other as we continue this important work together. You'll also be among the first to explore the brand-new Seed Library, which will be permanently housed at the Mount Prospect Public Library.
Please bring any seeds you'd like to share—just be sure they're in envelopes and clearly labeled. Don’t have seeds? No problem! Come anyway and leave with seeds to plant and inspiration for next year.
This year’s program will feature a panel of several local experts and dedicated individuals who will share valuable information about our shared mission. Scheduled speakers include:
Sherry Grobe, Mount Prospect Monarchs
Rachel Martin, Mount Prospect Public Library
Matt Stickels, Mount Prospect Public Works
Joanna Swidzinski, Go Green Mount Prospect
Bill Waltrich, Mount Prospect Native Gardeners
Jeannie Weber, Garden Club of Mount Prospect
We encourage you to bring your stories, questions, and any labeled, packaged seeds you'd like to share. It’s a great chance to exchange ideas and connect with fellow community members.
