Architecture enthusiast Lara Solonickne will share the history of Sears ready-cut houses.
From 1908 to 1942 Sears Roebuck and Company sold about 65,000 ready-to-build kit homes through catalogs. In this presentation you will learn what a Sears house is (and what it isn't), how to authenticate, and common misconceptions about these houses. A variety of Sears houses located in Mount Prospect and neighboring communities will be shown.
