Come learn about how the railroad has impacted the histories of Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, and Mount Prospect.
Discover local history on the big screen with staff of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, Des Plaines History Center, and Mount Prospect Historical Society for a viewing of their new documentary, Railroad Ties. This collaborative project explores how the railroad, and access to it, shaped the development of each of these communities from small farming towns to the bustling suburbs of today. After the showing, the Railroad Ties team will hold a Q&A session.
This program is presented in partnership with the Mount Prospect Historical Society.
The Main Library is located in downtown Mount Prospect, next to Village Hall. The building houses an extensive collection of materials, spaces for quiet and collaborative work, several program rooms, public computers, a dedicated teen space, and engaging play area for children.
