Learn the steps to convert VHS home videos to DVD or digital format using the library's Mac Studio equipment.

After the program, you can choose to work at the Mac Studio for up to 3 hours digitizing your own VHS tapes with the nearby assistance of a staff member. Please note: VHS digitizing takes place in real time. The digitization process will take at least as long as the length of the VHS tape.

Please bring blank DVD-Rs or a USB drive with at least 32 GB of storage. USB drives (64GB) are available for purchase at the Circulation desk for $10.

About the Location

The Main Library is located in downtown Mount Prospect, next to Village Hall. The building houses an extensive collection of materials, spaces for quiet and collaborative work, several program rooms, public computers, a dedicated teen space, and engaging play area for children.
