Meeting Room A room 154

Create a bird-friendly garden by learning how to attract and support local bird populations through thoughtful landscape enhancements and native plant selection.

Inviting birds into gardens by creating a healthy habitat is a joyful way to connect with nature and help support birds and pollinators. Gardener Pam Karlson transformed her Chicago garden into a bird garden habitat, attracting over 100 bird species.

Learn tips on landscape enhancements, practices, and plant selection, with an emphasis on native plants. We'll discuss Chicagoland’s location along the migratory route, as well as bird species diversity, habitat, diet/foraging, nesting, and community science initiatives.
