In this unique meet-the-author program, get an inside peek into Lerner's creative process. Plus, just like the characters in Lerner's books, you'll make cool stuff like a customized pinball machine.

Best for ages 6-11 with an adult.

Time travel! A shrinking machine! Robots coming to life! Jarrett Lerner's STEM-themed storytelling gets kids excited about science in book series like My Mad Scientist Mom, EngiNerds, Geeger the Robot, and more.

From 6-6:30 p.m., start in Meeting Room A, where Lerner will draw you into his imaginative world full of doodles, creative prompts, and fun! You'll even get a chance to ask questions and get his autograph after his presentation. Then, from 6:45-7:45 p.m., head to the Youth Program Room, where you'll customize your own pinball machine to take home. Each participant will receive marbles and a basic pinball machine setup — a flat box with a spring mechanism — and you’ll add decorations, flippers, and more.

For the autograph signing, use your program brochure, bring your own book, or purchase one of Jarrett Lerner's books at the event, available from local bookstore, Booked Evanston.

Please register each attendee.
